My coaching journey began
with a coach.

Seeking Direction

Over the course of a 25-year career in luxury fashion, I immersed myself in a challenging and rewarding progression of roles that included sales, management, wholesale, retail buying and culminated in executive leadership.

Curious to imagine what my future could look like, I paused to reflect on my career. I contemplated my accomplishments and the lessons I’d learned with a sense of pride, and was grateful for the cherished relationships I’d built. My intuition told me I was ready for a new direction, one that would allow me to draw on my unique experience and meld it with my desire to make a positive impact. And though I wanted this change, I had no idea where to begin.

So I turned to executive coach Steven Yorra.

Feeling Adrift

Leaving the comfort and security of an industry I knew well felt like a leap into a sky full of infinite possibilities. To discover the best options, Steven and I explored the things that infused my life with meaning, satisfaction and joy.

Our work together boosted my confidence and motivated me to consider alternatives beyond my comfort zone. Designing this new chapter was exhilarating, but clarity eluded me. I was drifting: when would my parachute unfurl and deliver me to solid ground?

Finding Purpose

Steven picked up on my cloudiness and asked me to prioritize what I wanted most from this new future. What kept coming up was my passion for helping others. Connecting the dots, Steven casually asked me what I thought about the prospect of coaching. What an “aha moment” it was: in a delighted flash, I recognized the immense fulfillment I’d felt over the years as I had naturally stepped into the role of coach to friends and colleagues to help them navigate the complexities of life.

Remember that parachute I mentioned? The one I’d been waiting for? In that moment, I realized it wasn’t necessary. I would soar using my own talent and experience to create a future precisely aligned with my passion and purpose.
